The serial number containing the engine code of your Fiat 500 can be located on a sticker that is stuck to the door, driver's side. If it isn't, check under the hood. It would be located on the front part of the engine. Otherwise, on the driver's side, at the bottom of the windshield, check behind the windshield wipers.

It should be stamped into the floor between the edge of the right-hand seat (passenger seat if LHD) and the door opening, running alongside the seat frame from a point near where the handbrake cable goes through the floor. The chassis number on a Renault 5 GT Turbo should be 17 figures long and begin with the following prefix, which applies to both the Phase 1 and Phase 2 cars: VFIC405050. This starting prefix will be followed by the car’s individual / unique seven digit code. Chassis Number location: The chassis number is located in 2 positions on the R5 GT Turbo. The main problem with the 500 and 126 engine swap is the gearbox bellhousing, this is because on the 500 engine the starter motor position is more or less on the top of the bell housing where as on the 126 it's lower down on the right hand side (distributor side) What year is your 500 to confirm it's the D model?
No. Per Ricambi/Spares xxxxxx The number stamped on the engine block should read: Fiat 100D *1427794* BTW, the engine number and chassis number do not have to be the same and the 600Ds continued their chassis numbers where the 600s stopped. From my previous post, your car would be the (1423494 - 891107 + 1) = 532388th 600D produced since mid-1960.
Chassis number confirms that it’s a model year 1966 and 427031 it’s the serial number. Due to the fact that since m.y. 1966 1300cc engine was introduced for beetles the unique number for engine ended up and started with D letter for 1200cc and F letter for 1300cc. You mount a 1200cc!!
